FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECH)
For the GS-07 POSITION:
This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications:
Fire Fighter I and II, Driver/Operator Pumper, Airport Firefighter, Driver Operator ARFF, HAZMAT Awareness, HAZMAT Operations, HAZMAT Technician. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications you will be rate ineligible . Copies of Certifications MUST be submitted with your application. National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Life Support (NREMT-B). Copy of Certification MUST be submitted with your application. FOR the GS-07 POSITION I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department/brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; 5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles; and 6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
