Marketing Manager

Works closely with MWR program managers to develop strategic marketing plans that effectively promote MWR facilities, programs and services with the goal of maximizing patron utilization and revenue. Evaluates the effectiveness of marketing plans, strategies and communication programs as determined by customer's response and overall success of programs. Oversees the production of graphic art material used to promote MWR events and activities. Projects include (print and digital) brochures, flyers, menus, posters, logo designs, magazine/newspaper ad designs, table tents, newsletters, business cards, and other projects as requested. Tracks and maintains a log of all marketing requests. Ensures design, composition, printing and distribution of marketing material are accomplished in compliance with branding guidelines and in a timely manner. Develops an effective communications strategy by establishing and maintaining (digital and print) information stations in high traffic locations. Ensures information stations are maintained in working order and with up-to-date information. Performs first level supervisory duties, which include initiating personnel actions, preparing performance appraisals, recommending hiring and disciplinary actions, directing specific task and job assignments, training, etc. Creates employee schedules and maintains time keeping records. Orders and maintains marketing supplies. Follows-up on purchasing requests and estimated delivery dates to ensure service breakdowns do not occur. Collects and organizes internal information and utilizes it to estimate future supply needs. Maintains fixed assets and minor property inventory and ensures that all equipment is properly maintained. Responsible for taking program and event photos and utilizing them in marketing to attract our target audience. Responsible for attending and presenting indoctrination briefings about MWR. Attends any required MWR boards and meetings relating to marketing in order to provide and obtain needed information regarding special function activities and events. Provides visibility and dissemination of information for all MWR programs through written communications, presentations, speeches, military messages, press releases, and other means available. Coordinates efforts with Public Affairs Officer (PAO), military commands, support agencies, and regional marketing department to ensure MWR receives the widest possible coverage. Works with regional marketing department to ensure all requirements set forth are met. Meets all deadlines and timelines and participates in conference calls and training mandated by the regional marketing department. Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the MWR website/app as well as other social interactive application sites. Creates graphics and other multimedia files as necessary for integration of the website and other social interactive sites. Updates all electronic media, not limited to the website, social media, and digital signage system. Ensures compliance to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for social and electronic media under Navy guidelines and policies. Responsible for management of the commercial sponsorship program to include, but not limited to, matching events with potential sponsors, determining opportunities for sponsors, sponsorship and advertising solicitations, sponsorship agreement preparation, etc. Responsible for maintaining accounts, record keeping, and follow-up communications with sponsors and advertisers. Develops sponsorship proposal packages and negotiates best terms. Tracks agreements, ensuring they are reviewed by legal counsel and signed by designated authority. Works closely with the regional marketing department to develop advertising and commercial sponsorship rate sheets. Tracks sponsorship considerations and advertising placement to ensure contractual compliance. Develops after-action reports of sponsored events and proof of performance for advertising sales. Provides visibility for MWR and disseminates information by making presentations to individuals or groups regarding MWR facilities, services, programs and special events available for commercial sponsorships. Establishes and maintains liaison with existing and potential sponsors, clubs, recreation program managers, key staff personnel, commands or groups to gather information pertinent to facility programs, services and events in an effort to solicit sponsorship and participation. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Knowledge of the organization, functions and operation of the station, higher echelon commands and their relationship to other federal activities and private industry. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with other organizations, local economy, representatives of local medica, commnity members, and military/civil service personnel. Ability to demonstrate effective writing and oral presentation skills including writing and editing documents and publications using a variety of marketing medical methods, such as graphic arts, design, illustrations, photographs, broadcast, visual media and electronic and website media. Skilled in various computer and software programs including, Adobe Acrobat X Pro, Adobe illustrator/Photoshop, Adobe in Design, Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Powerpoint, Publisher, word and Excel. Skill in establishing, coordinating and successfully completing high visibility community relation events with patron attendance of 10,000+. Knowedge of non-appropriated fund/appropriated fund (NAF/APF) policies and procedures. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
