The Wayne H. King Department of Chemical and Natural Gas Engineering at Texas A&M University - Kingsville invites applications for a full-time, 9-month/academic year, tenure-track faculty as an assistant professor beginning the Fall 2018 academic year (start date: August 15, 2018). Candidates must have an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution or university in either Petroleum Engineering or Natural Gas Engineering. Post-graduate experience in either industry or academia, a strong record of research productivity, registration as a professional engineer, and demonstrated leadership in professional societies is highly desirable. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department, advise undergraduate and graduate students, supervise M.S. and Ph.D. students? research, develop an externally funded research program to support his/her activities, and participate in activities that lead to strengthening the Department, the College, and the University. Individuals with demonstrated experience in teaching and research in upstream, midstream and downstream natural gas processing are especially encouraged to apply.
The faculty member will be based at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Texas, which as part of the Texas A&M University System, is a state-supported institution housing seven colleges including the graduate college. The university?s enrollment of approximately 9,600 reflects the ethnic diversity of South Texas, with nearly 65% of the students being Hispanic origin. + Participate in activities that lead to strengthening the department, the college, and the university
Education and Experience
+ Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution or university in either petroleum engineering or natural gas engineering
+ Post-graduate experience in either industry or academia is desirable
+ A strong record of research productivity
+ Demonstrated involvement and/or leadership in professional societies is highly desirable
+ Experience in teaching and research in upstream, midstream and/or downstream natural gas processing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Qualified and willing to teach undergraduate and graduate courses to chemical and natural gas engineering students with an emphasis upon the latter group.
+ Outstanding oral and written communication skills
+ Contribute to the development of innovative teaching and research laboratories in natural gas engineering
+ Demonstrated quality teaching skills
+ Registration as a professional engineer, or progress toward gaining a PE license by successful completion of the FE exam is desirable

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
